Moved back to Colorado Springs.
Summer 1985
Worked the summer at UniPac in Denver as a file
clerk and did a little skip tracing. Amazing the people who don't
pay back their college loans.
Moved to Denver from Ft. Collins, living
in an apartment across the street from Loretto Heights' College.

Traveled to Florida and Walt Disney World
with Michelle Otto for Spring Break.

Attended Colorado State University
full time, began dating Michelle Otto.

Left Active Duty, USAF. Moved to Ft. Collins, Colorado to attend
Colorado State
University. Dated RoseMary Bachicha for
a short time.
1984 - Leaving Berlin - A few memories:
Berlin, amazing Berlin. Bill Gearhart, Lisa Medon, Karen
Kistle, Nancy Hegedusich., Sandee Fahndrich, Scott "Scooter" Stohr, my best bud Kevin
Hellmann, and my (not so) secret crush on Jennifer Ollearo and Sandee; and
my sweet love Margie Reese.
Going to concerts, Traveling to the zone and Europe, East Berlin, exploring
the tunnels under Tempelhof with Kevin (statute of limitations has run out I
hope), going to the topless beach with Kevin for, um, some viewing. Accidentally setting off the fire alarm with a home made blow torch (I know
that SP didn’t believe my story) all because "someone" had to tell me the
Bronco's score. Playing an intruder during SP drills, flying on the border
patrol helicopter; Kevin being drunk and playing with the cabbies hair, and
we won't talk about impersonating an officer.
Even work was amazing, working
two shifts when stuff was coming down and we would refuse to do turnover;
all the "Land on Templehof" LOT hijackings, the great jeep jokes -
blowing smoke through the back of a receiver and freaking a linguist out,
who was sure their equipment had caught on fire - Alpha flight ruled.
Running local courier duty, and OMG the local dining hall actually served
great food. The NCO club and Officers club was combined so we got the
perks of BOTH, including near break even slots; and last but not least the
great German people in the wonderful city of Berlin.

what seems like a honorable and gentlemanly decision I have always
regretted.

It's a great time dancing at Cowboys, and we even go far out of town to
dance at the "Yellow Rose of Texas".

Life, Halloween.
A girl who shall forever go unnamed,
that I had a fairly serious crush on - we had breakfast every day
together, and went on a few platonic dates, until one day she informs me
she is being kicked out of the Air Force. Why I ask? She tells me
"I'm gay". Sadly, I never had a clue, even when she frequently
wore that T-Shirt that said "I need a Man like a fish needs a bicycle".
Call me clueless. I sure liked her, to!

Had a longer than average wait for my
security clearance, Thanks to my brother. During this time I was a
base Traffic Safety Instructor – of course I was all of 18 and supremely
experienced in this area.

Basic training. I was on the Weight
gain program, as I weighed in at 123 lbs at 5'11 1/2". That meant two
breakfasts every morning (one before PT, one after). I didn't mind,
got me out of additional duty's. I was house mouse, a position of
power - I scheduled "guard duty" for example. A basic training picture
